It all started at the family piano in the living room of our house in Houston, old and out of tune, ready to have some silly tunes plunked out on it. My family has always been musical. We sing songs in the car, assigning harmonies to each other and coming up with family arrangements. I wanted to be on Broadway when I was a kid. I decided to major in musical theatre at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (now KHSPVA), but learned by my senior year that acting was not something I could see myself doing much longer. I majored in songwriting and producing in college, completing my freshman year at the University of Colorado Denver and finishing my degree at Berklee College of Music.
